Disenchanted

Well I was enjoying this new job, up until yesterday. Just like people, workplace cultures eventually show their true colours if you wait long enough.

Some ‘anonymous’ pussycuntmotherfucker person had a whinge to my boss, who forwarded it onto my team leader so he could talk to me.

The problem?

The fact I had my own laptop on my desk, which has its own (non-work) broadband connection. Evidently this is a security risk, because I could be copying confidential files and whatnot to somewhere. Like i’d bother!?

If they weren’t so anal retentive about blocking everything on our network, I wouldn’t even need to use my lappie, would I?

For example, I can’t even view the animated weather chart on the Bureau of Meteorology website. Blocked.

USB Sticks would be more of a security risk than my hulking laptop, which i’m certainly not trying to hide. They hold gigs, and are easily lost or easily concealed. Whatever tickles your fancy.

Maybe they should also lock down the printers, coz I dunno, someone might PRINT something sensitive and walk out the door with it.

Fuck me.

Lelouch…

I love when an Anime series is done well, and ends on a high note. You really get into it, and feel for the characters.

Code Geass R2 was exactly that.

The ending was really… deep. I won’t give it away, but I will say there were tears. More than a couple - and I seldom tear up at any movie or show.

Festy Food

I think this is a fantastic idea.. naming and shaming places that fail to meet the health food standards code. Not surprisingly, Victoria doesn’t have one.. this is NSW only.

Ads Ads Ads

If you hate those stupid banners in MSN Messenger as much as I do, you’ll be overjoyed to use this little tool I found:

WLM Universal Patcher++

You can remove the ad banner from the main window, the msn search, and the text ads from your chat windows.

Fucking cool!

(And for those nitpickers who point want to point out the advertising pays for the service to be provided free… STFU!)

Oberoi Amarvilas: The cost? $743 p/n. The view? Priceless!

I came across a tripadvisor review for the Oberoi Amarvilas - which is an expensive 5 star hotel with spectacular views of the Taj Mahal, in India.

I like this review from “torontoharbour”…

- snip -
Downsides to this hotel:

1) Every night there is a cacophony of sound coming from various temples etc. Some of this is bell ringing, chanting etc which would not be hard to put up with. However I am talking about extremely loud chanting/singing from many LOUDSPEAKERS that play up to about midnight every night. We would have stayed on our balcony longer each night but gave up due to the extreme noise.

2) There is a strip of “park” land between the back of the hotel and the Taj Mahal - an area consisting of barren soil, shrubs and dense trees to one side. Every morning while having our breakfast on our lovely balcony we were met with a view of about 25 men defecating on the ground immediately in front of us i.e., in order to see the Taj Mahal at sunrise you must look at 20 + men defecating on the ground right in front of you between the back of the hotel and the Taj Mahal. The hotel clearly does a lot to keep the hotel safe etc inc. posting a guard at the wall that separates this “park” from the manicured hotel grounds in order to ensure that no locals get over the wall onto the hotel grounds. Given this I don’t know why they cant do something with the city powers that be to get the defecating men to at least move over into the dense trees on the other side of the “park” (the women go into the dense trees to defecate). I mentioned this to the concierge. She said there is “nothing we can do.”

Too fucking funny… seriously.

Stupid white boys

It never ceases to amaze me how stupid some people seem to be.

One of my Sydney friends was talking to me the other day, telling me about some new white guy he’d been on a couple of dates with.

At the same time, I was bored with text twirl on Facebook, but noticed another Sydney friend flirting with someone they’d recently added to their friends list.

I asked my friend who this mystery guy was, and was told to look on his Facebook friends’ list.

Lo and behold, it was the same guy.

This guy had been on a couple of dates with each of my friends, at the same time. Now whilst it’s not the standard definition of two-timing, if i’m interested in a person I don’t run around and date other people at the same time - going ’steady’ or not. But maybe that’s just me.

So both my friends realised that this guy is dating ’someone else’, but I wasn’t about to reveal who. If they couldn’t figure it out, well.. blah.

The dumber one sends an sms to the guy saying “ARE YOU SEEING SOMEONE ELSE?” so obviously the guy sends an sms to my other friend saying “DID YOU POST SOMETHING ON MY FACEBOOK?”. Kind of amusing, in a stupid moronic way.

So now one of my friends is dating this guy, just to see where it leads, and the other was removed off this guy’s friends list, excommunicated, and is devastated - though I don’t know why.. I really can’t see what he’s attracted to anyway. Though perhaps that’s a failing of mine… I can’t see people’s inner beauty sometimes. Just like some other asian friends who ogle these fugly white guys.. even after I observe their personality etc, I just can’t see why.

It’s true, beauty is only skin deep. But it’s also true.. ugliness goes right to the bone.

Grossness

In almost every visit to the toilets here, I get to witness something disgusting.

When I was up in Sydney, twice - both times on a Monday - there was one loo so ‘overloaded’, it wouldn’t flush. Just look for the skinny ______, after that dump. The other day, it was some ______ person, in a stall, talking on the phone: WHILST ‘dropping the bombs’, so to speak. Other days it’s just a foul curry smell, due to the fact of the extra processing it’s received on the way through them. Today, it was someone washing their feet and clipping toenails, in one of the basins.

Yeah, you might save a few dollars by hiring ______s, but you sure need a decent toilet cleaner.

Once around the bowl… twice around the bowl…

We’ve long suspected that some Americans have brains the size of the common goldfish, and it now seems to have lowered to a point where goldfish themselves are now eligible to vote.

Yep. Goldfish. Dead goldfish.

Source: Yahoo News

Dead goldfish offered the vote in Illinois

CHICAGO – The only “agent of change” Princess ever supported was the person who freshened the water in her fishbowl.

So election officials in Chicago’s northern suburbs want to know why voter registration material was sent to the dead goldfish.

“I am just stunned at the level of people compromising the integrity of the voting process,” said Lake County Clerk Willard Helander, a Republican, who said she has spotted problems with nearly 1,000 voter registrations this year.

Beth Nudelman, who owned the fish, said Princess may have landed on a mailing list because the family once filled in the pet’s name when they got a second phone line for a computer.

“There was no fraud involved,” said Nudelman, a Democrat who supports Barack Obama. “This person is a dead fish.”

The paperwork sent to a “Princess Nudelman” likely came from the “Women’s Voices, Women Vote” project, which sent nearly 1 million mailings to Illinois households in August using a list that mistakenly included some pets, said Sarah Johnson, a spokeswoman for the not-for-profit group that encourages single women to vote.
