Sandcastles
I remember my parents used to take me to the beach when I was a kid.
I had this neat-o bucket which I used to make sandcastles with – pack the sand in, upturn it, and there you have a tower complete with indentations and cut-outs on the top. Kinda like the ‘Castle’ in a Chess game.
You’d take so much time, perfecting a sandcastle, digging a moat, decorating it with seaweed and sea shells, and voila.
Then the tide would come in, and with a couple of foul swoops all that hard work would be for nothing.
I hated sandcastles, and I still do.
But I hate that tide even more. Metaphorically or otherwise. It fucks everything up.

Tides are certainly destructive, but aren’t we all guilty of the occasional fit of madness or boredom, when we kick apart everything that we’ve created just to see if we can do better?
Hope you’re well.

Gives us all an opportunity to start building all over again – hopefully stronger and better than the last.
