PMS Thursday
I knew I should have just stayed in bed this morning.
Woke up, muted alarm, fell asleep again.
Woke up (a bit late), got up, got ready for work, drove to St Kilda to park the car, getting stuck in traffic along the way.
Parked car, waited for a tram. And waited. Got on the tram, tram goes so slowly I could have run alongside it and won.
Got to work, 9.50. Fiiiine, i’ll just work through my lunchtime. Meh.
Did some database changes to this thing i’m doing, then get told later “Oh no, don’t do it graphically, you need to write the code to do it so we can do it the same on the production database..” – then don’t make me use this shit program then. Even most free database-front-end programs allow you to manipulate things graphically, and show you the code afterward. Grr.
Mmm.. bed.

ihate.NET
I spent half of the afternoon trying to figure out why my coding wasn’t working.
I don’t know what was going on in the asp.net language creator’s mind, but he’s a WANKER.
The problem with my coding was..
DIM variable AS xyzfunction
whereas I should have been writing
DIM variable AS NEW xyzfunction
What the fuck does the NEW do??? If it wasn’t NEW I wouldn’t be fucking dimming (creating) it now, would I?
Grrrrr.

The DaVinci Code and other scenery
In awe of the scenery that flashes past in The DaVinci Code? Want a closer look?
Check out this site: http://www.panoramas.dk/da-vinci-code/index.html
It has Quicktime 360 degree views of a heap of places out of the movie. It also has some totally unrelated other scenery too… it’s stunning.

Monday Motivation
Or lack thereof…
I’m sitting here, staring at the code. I vaguely know what i’m supposed to be doing. But nothing’s happening.
I think it could be a combination of not having any idea of how to code asp.net beyond the simple stuff, but moreso the fact I have no idea how this application is supposed to work, or how it links to the other applications I know nothing about.
Hand-overs are nonexistent around here. It would have been more helpful if someone had thrown the manual at me and yelled “Handover” as they walked out the door, because at least then I would have the manual. But there isn’t one.

Why do I get the feeling that google isn’t being helpful anymore?
Oh and today, a new guy started. And I think i’m going to be expected to train him. Ha!
The blind leading the blind.

Mini Minute Catchup
Friday: Left work really late. Note to self: Never approve any production changes to go live @ Friday 5pm in future, regardless of when the business wants em. (Took ages to retrieve a backup when the new files failed).
Saturday: Parents came to visit, dad got lost on the way back from dropping my sister at the airport, and ended up in Coburg. Eventually found their way back to my place. They left late afternoon and Louis made us congee for dinner. Despite having a duck egg in it, I liked it! (Waay more flavour than the white tasteless stuff you get at yum-cha).
Sunday: We got up late, then I worked on my web programming most of the day, and Louis worked on his presentation and speech notes for his upcoming presentation.
Monday: Worked. Although I didn’t wanna. I spent the day comparing the live scripts with the failed ones we tried to put live on friday, and discovered a bunch of differences between them. Bleh.
Louis went well with his presentation on Nanotechnology, so now it’s onto his next task: Lotass notes. Evil has a new face..
I made spaghetti for dinner, then afterwards we booked 2 nights accommodation in the Sheraton (Executive Suite) for when we’re in KL. I love amex points. Cash value: $330 per night – Amex points (40,000 redeemed) vouchers: $0.
A bit more programming in the evening, and Louis did some more of his.

Sheraton – Executive Room… cushy!
Oh, and I downloaded too much this month, being capped SUCKS. Alot. Moreso when there are new anime episodes out. 5 more days….

PHP Programming
PHP Programming is like riding a bike. Once you learn it, even if you leave it for awhile, when you start again it all comes back to you.
Or maybe i’m just gifted. [ha!]
